Dawn

It was cold and dark, and I was alone in the universe.
Always busy, things to do, people to see and all that.
Faces and places, in the same old order of things.
Strive to better ourselves, we must or not.
My journey has been long, and I am weary.
But one day as I walked down my destiny’s path, minding my own, a light appeared.
It was there and gone.
Twice in its passing, the light shined warmth into my heart, and then was gone.
I continued my purpose, keeping the warmth of the light’s smile in my heart.
Continuing my walk, I found hope that there was indeed, light to be found.
And now the light is here and warm, soft and full.
I see the light, in your eyes as they smile.
The light in your ways, and style.
Lips like cherries, full and luscious.
Like the first kiss of spring, on a late winter’s day.
Even though your light is new, its sweetness will last a lifetime in my heart.
Thank you!
